To me a shrine is a point of focus to help settle the mind, stop thinking for a while and appreciate the world of silence, stillness and simplicity. Best Shrines are mirror like, they invite for reflection, and make you recognise your real being. When the image presents a saint a sense of respect or devotion will be provoked. And so a little notion of what they lived can be revealed. The art of religion is respectfully presenting provocations of devotion.
